Murphy's Pet Bow-Tique

Murphy's has been around for over 12 years and family owned and operated by us for 10. We have seen many pet supply stores come and go especially with the arrival of Pet Smart in Oviedo. But, we have survived by providing quality frendly reasonably priced services for years. In 2000, I, Dawn decided to go to grooming school. I sank my whole heart into it and as I got better, my wonderful customers kept recommending me to friends and family. I began having the vision of eventually building a visually exciting, hip, cute little grooming and pet boutique.

In 2001 My mother, Nita, suffered a major heart attack in a minor car accident in downtown Oviedo. Thanks to the Oviedo firefighters she is still around. We now offer firefighters and police officers a 10% discount.

In 2002 the year started with talk of downtown redevelopment including road widening which may or may not wident the road our rented storefront was on. I deduced that sooner or later the building was in jeopardy. After a few ALMOSTS, I was in a toy store in the mall and ran into an old friend who informed me that 47 S. CENTRAL AVE. was soon to be on the market. Before too long I was the proud new OWNER of a cute little building that in my vision was to be the cute little doggie boutique I always wanted.

With a lot of work (mostly on the part of my better half, Nelson, not to be confused with the store mascot our chocolate lab "Nelson", which is another story) we remodeled the building into a boutique just as I had alway pictured in my mind. At the same time we built a boarding facility at our home to coincide with our grooming business. We live on 11 oak tree covered acres in the country. My dream was to also have a boarding BED AND BREAKFAST type kennel with indoor/outdoor runs opening into a large grassed exercise area where dogs can romp and play. We have built a small kennel offering those features to match the new boutique. We have even expanded on that and put in a wonderful wading pool for the swimmers. On occasion you'll see our little munchkin (my daughter Morgan Olivia) swimming with all the doggies.
